Villena renews its road signs with new vertical signs and horizontal painting.
Villena City Council has launched a comprehensive road signage improvement plan that includes the replacement and installation of new vertical signage, as well as the painting of new horizontal signage on various public roads in the municipality, awarded to AKRA SEÑAL.
These projects, which have already begun at several points in the city, have the main objective of improving road safety, optimizing vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and updating the visibility of traffic signs, many of which showed obvious signs of wear due to the passage of time and weather conditions.
The intervention includes the installation of new vertical traffic signs—such as speed limits, pedestrian crossings, mandatory directions, and parking zones—and the repainting of road markings such as lane markings, pedestrian crossings, yield signs, stop lines, and roadway symbols. The incorporation of signage adapted to the new urban mobility and universal accessibility plans is also planned. The works are being carried out in phases to minimize disruption to traffic and residents, leaving Villena with a better-signposted, clearer road network adapted to current urban mobility needs.
